Blog Tour ~ Safe Bet (The Rules #4) by @MSMonicaMurphy includes Derna’s review.

Safe Bet is a mash-up new adult romance features characters from both the One Week Girlfriend series and The Rules series.

Sydney Walker’s new job is perfect. As the live-in nanny to the most famous quarterback in the NFL and his beautiful wife, she couldn’t have it any better. Their kids are adorable. Her bosses are more than generous. Plus, there are hot football players at the house all the time. Life can’t get much better than this.

Until her life turns into an absolute nightmare. The media is abuzz with rumors that she and her boss Drew Callahan are having a torrid affair. Everyone knows the truth—except the public. So Drew’s wife Fable comes up with the perfect idea.

She creates a fake relationship between Sydney and one of the rookie players on Drew’s team. Wade Knox is forever indebted to Drew and Fable and readily agrees to the set up. Pretending to be in a romantic relationship with the hot nanny for a week—how hard can it be?

Crazy how it only takes one week for two people to fall head over heels in love…

*** I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***

Safe Bet is the fourth book in Monica Murphy’s Rules series and it also features the characters of her One Week Girlfriend series Drew and Fable.

I enjoyed the story; it was such an easy, fun read that was so low on the angst and drama and I liked that because something you just need a book like that. Sydney was one lucky girl as I worked as a nanny for many years, but sadly my bosses never fixed me up with any of their hot friends, and they had a few!!

Sydney and Wade were cute together. I loved watching them process their feelings for each other as their fake relationship turn into something more. Anyone who reads this book is going to love Wade, as he was just a sweetheart

“We’re in a fake relationship. This is all…bogus. So why doesn’t it feel bogus? It should. I don’t want to get my hopes up. Too late. They’re already.

“The more I spend with her, the more I want to be with her always”

I have always had a soft spot for Drew and Fable as One Week Girlfriend was my first Monica Murphy book and so it was great to see what’s happening in their lives.

Even though Safe Bet is the fourth book in the rules series, I agree it can be read as a standalone. However, I have done a quick read of the three previous books before reading “Safe Bet” as OCD habits mean I can’t read books out of order. So if you haven’t read any of the other books in the Rules series and you want to read this one then go ahead as it will be it’s perfectly fine.

If you were looking for sweet and easy romance story, then I would definitely give “Safe Bet” a go. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
