Jacob Decker and Emmanuelle Holmes had always had a great friendship. Emme would have loved more, as in her eyes sexy alpha Deck was the perfect man for her. However, his relationship with her best friend friendship meant that friendship was she could have with Deck. But now after nine years of not seeing each other Emme and Deck bump into each other and now the possibilities are endless. But Emme’s past could hold them back from a future together.
“This was a kaleidoscope of beauty, the dials spinning, ever changing, but never anything short of spectacular.”
I enjoyed Emme and Jacob’s story another perfect KA couple. Even though time had passed, they still had that connection that was always there it was deep and strong and one they both couldn’t deny. Their relationship was beautiful, but it’s not all plain sailing. I loved how honest they were with each other, especially Deck when things got hard for Emme. He was supportive and loving when Emme really needs him and when Emme tried to push Deck away, Deck just pushes right back.
“Because it means that much to me, I’m gonna handle this with care. You just gotta believe me.”
Emma Thomas reads the story and I love listening to her voice as she has a way of absorbing me into the story. I think she did a great job with Emme’s character and was really able to convey her emotions when feelings that were buried deep came flooding to the surface.
Kaleidoscope is a well-written romance story and just like jagged was a shorter read that was lower on the suspense and mystery aspect. Although there was one point in the story towards the end where something happened and KA could have taken the story in a whole different direction, I didn’t mind that she didn’t as I like the way it all panned out. The ending was delightful and me with a big grin on my face.
“You think you lost beauty, but you didn’t’. Just turn the dial.”
I’m excited to be starting bounty next and as it an ARC copy for the first time ever I will be reading and no listening to a KA book!!
Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!).
Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.
Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).
Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.
And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.
