Colt meted out revenge against the man who brought Feb low, but even though Colt risked it all for her, Feb turned her back on him and left town.
Fifteen years later Feb comes back to help run the family bar. But there’s so much water under the bridge separating her and Colt, everyone knows they’ll never get back together – until someone starts hacking up people in Feb’s life. Colt is still Colt, and Feb is still Feb, so the town watches as Colt goes all out to find the murderer while trying to keep Feb safe. As the bodies pile up, the feds move in, and a twisting, turning story unravels, exposing a very sick man who has claimed numerous victims. Along the way Feb and Colt battle their enduring attraction and the beautiful but lost history that weaves them together.

After momentarily leaving the Colorado Mountain series as KA suggested on her website I started For You (The ‘Burg #1) and began listening to February Owens and Lieutenant Alexander Colton’s story. Feb and Colt childhood sweetheart who were meant to be together forever until one night when something happens and changes everything which leaves them both broken hearted and disconnect. Fast-forward fifteen years later and they find themselves reconnect due to a psycho killer and Colt vows to do all he can to protect and keep safe the woman who was his first love, his soul mate and who has always had his heart.
“Since I was three, there’s never been a day when I wasn’t in love with you.”
“Like it right now or not, Feb, couple days ago, you gave yourself back to me. You think I’m lettin’ that go, think again because, baby, you’re fucking wrong.”
For You is a book about second chances, family, love, heartbreak, trust, and forgiveness filled with passion, romance, humor, fun, murder, suspense, mystery and lots of action. I adore both Feb and Colt they are fantastic characters. Colt was a classic sexy alpha. Feb, who hadn’t had an easy past, was a strong character with lots of sassiness. The feelings between Feb and Colt were hot, intense, powerful and swoon worthy and I adore them together. They attraction to each other was undeniable, but their past and history meant they had unresolved issues they that would have to overcome if they were going to move forward.
“I remember everything about you and I remember all the reasons why I loved you. Never could forget even when I tried.”
“I’ve moved on, Colt.” “Bullshit, Feb, you’re stuck, same as me.”
For You is narrated by Liz Thompson a new voice for me and I felt she did a good job. I liked the voices she did for the various characters and I liked her energy and the way she absorbed me into the story. If I were to say anything, it would be that at times, there were some unnecessary pauses, but that could to do with the way the audio was recorded rather than Liz. It was a minor issue and, therefore, didn’t impact my enjoyment of listening to the story.
For You was a great start to this series, with some loveable supporting characters. I loved the ending and I’m absolutely sure that just like KA’s other series I will love this series too, But for now, I jumping back into Colorado Mountain series and listening to Jagged and because of connecting characters I completely understand why KA suggests you read this one first. Another great story by Kristen Ashley that helped feed my KA addiction.
Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!).
Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.
Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).
Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.
And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.
